AT THE END OF THE DAY

“Each day is the repetition of the other”- Romain Rolland wrote in his famous novelJean Christophe. Yes, to an ordinary man (like me), has nothing new, nothing interesting in his life. The same routine he has to follow. The same office, same job, everything remains the same day after day. Even throughout the life, a very few changes occur in his life and that makes his life dreary.

A man so long does not thinks of, has no boredom but when suddenly he realizes the tiredness of following the same routine, the same activities-depression surrounds him greatly.“OH God! I’m tired, I’m helpless, until your miracle showers on me I won’t come out of this colorless life”-he sometimes weeps stealthily, sometimes murmurs. But nothing happens. The next day is nothing but the repetition of the previous day. This is the scenario of every common man. Only weekends gives him some sort of relief. But if anyone thinks that this is not sufficient then his problems become grave.

He returns in the evening after completion of his prototype jobs and follows the same routine to pass the leisure. Depression lurks over him. He thinks his life is meaningless.If he thinks so, is it correct? No. He has options, many options are there to make his life meaningful, to change his daily life as an interesting, has a chance to make a new identity of his own and that is – he has to search what attracts him greatly and what he may do in the midst of his boring daily life. Not a thing which may be larger than his very normal and a common people’s life. But very simple tasks he can find out which he can pursue as a hobby or as a way of creativity. It may be books he likes most, or cinemas or table tennis or chess-whatever it may be. Suppose, for example, it is the book, that he likes or in the past, he used to like to read, he can start writing reviews after going through it. That, again and again, should be checked and then can be sent to a newspaper or any magazine in form of book reviews or in form letters in the opinion column of readers. Or, he may like chess but never played, and then he should go to a chess club, be a member and start learning chess. As another example, from his childhood, he likes drawing and painting but he never thinks to make a start. Now he may take a pencil and start drawing lines over a white paper for some days, then start copying some pictures from here and there. If he really likes it he may go to a teacher and start learning.

Who knows after a few years his passion will not give a new identity, his skill may not be accredited by the whole society but he will taste the satisfaction of creating something, whatever may be the value of it to others. The common thing that exists in common folk is lack of persuasion. Everyone takes it for a short time and the effort evaporates very quickly. He has no patience and does not try to realize that strong determination is the key to success. The difference between a common man and a genius is only one thing, and that is strong determination. A common man has no faith in him and always thinks he won’t be able to do it. A genius never gives up hope and always pursues his goal.

So to make the life colorful and meaningful within a repetitive daily life he has to take some steps with the positive approach. And that is very simple, first, he has to search the subject of his interests, then he has to try all the avenues and then to pick up the thing that seems to be the most interesting and easiest among all. Next, he has to go after it every day with patience and zeal and after a certain period, he will see that he is getting more pleasure to do it. A day will come when he will wait to complete all the tasks of his very common daily life and fells craving to practice that thing which is very much attractive and creative to him. The process of persuasion in his effort to make his creativity better and better will make him a different from other common people. Not only that at the end of the day he will realize that he passed through a colorful life. He will say –“I got the right path to express and expose the good qualities which lay hidden within me and though I could not gather fame or wealth I lived a meaningful life.
